ONE of Scotland’s best known names in contemporary folk music will be gracing Malvern with their presence next month.
The Peatbog Faeries, who are based all the way up on the Isle of Skye, bring their own individual brand of Scottish tunes to the Malvern Cube, formerly Malvern Youth Centre, in Albert Road North, from 7.30pm on Thursday, October 11.
The six-piece group have been nominated in the best live act category of this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and walked away with the live act of the year gong at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards in 2005 and 2008.
With six studio albums and world tours behind them they incorporate many influences, from traditional jigs and reels through jazz, hip hop, reggae and more.
Their album, Dust, was released in August 2011 and presents an exciting new Peatbogs sound.
Tickets are £16.
