ONE of the most inventive, captivating and sought-after rising acts on the acoustic roots scene stops at the Roses Theatre as part of their first full tour.
Exeter’s Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin embark on the Routes South West tour this autumn, which is being backed by the Bristol Music Trust and Arts Council England, and their Tewkesbury show falls on Tuesday, October 16. Henry is considered one of the UK’s finest slide guitarists and the duo’s mesmerising and other-worldly sound is drawn from a wellspring of English folk music, Indian classical melodies, gospel and American blues, woven into something truly unique and underpinned by the pair’s subtle chemistry.
Earlier in the year they supported Show of Hands in the Royal Albert Hall, and the band’s frontman Steve Knightley describes Henry as “one of the most extraordinary musicians around”.
Tickets are £10, or £9 for under- 25s.
