FURTHER to my recent letter regarding rubbish collection I am writing again as I am stunned by the level of response that I have received in just a few days.
Besides the subject under discussion, the attitude to the local council, and its failure to communicate effectively with its parishioners is very surprising, even to someone with my level of cynicism.
Apathy I expected also annoyance, but anger and even hatred I did not expect to such a degree.
This matter of the rubbish collection has certainly touched raw nerves.
Again no-one was in favour of the new bin proposals and the response to having people’s views so summarily dismissed, as if of no value, when this matter was thoroughly aired and crushed so recently evoked especial wrath. May I suggest that the Malvern Gazette again lists the names of councillors and how they voted on this matter.
Democracy certainly does not appear to work very well in the Malvern area.
Finally may I thank all who contacted me.
I am sorry that my recent illness and release from hospital currently forbids a more active role.
May I request yet again that councillors listen to the public and throw out these new bin proposals and allow basic common sense to prevail.
DAVID C TARPLETT, Malvern Wells.
