100 YEARS AGO.
PC Crawford, stationed at Quest Hills, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant, and takes the place at Malvern Link of Sergeant Hayes, who proceeded to headquarters at Worcester yesterday. While congratulating the former on his advancement in the force we also hope that Sergeant Hayes, who is a most courteous and efficient officer, will meet with further success in his new sphere.

50 YEARS AGO.
Princess Margaret is coming to Malvern on Tuesday to pay a visit to Davenham. She will travel by air, landing at Pershore airfield at 10.15am. After a private luncheon with Sir William and Lady Tennant, Princess Margaret will travel to Davenham, arriving at about 3pm. She will take tea at the home before leaving for her return flight from Pershore. Davenham is now a retired people's home, governed by Friends of the Poor and Gentlefolks' Help, of which Princess Margaret is president.

25 YEARS AGO.
More building is in the pipeline on the Three Counties Showground , which last year saw the erection of the new Severn Hall and sheep-shearing shed. The Three Counties Agricultural Society is now looking at a July 1988 start date for a new storage building and workshops occupying a total of nearly 17,000 square feet on the woodhouse yard. And the society is budgeting for expenditure of up to £125,000 on the buildings.
