MALVERN’S newest microbrewery, the Friday Beer Company, is going into cask ale territory.
It will be launched from the barrel at the Swan with Two Nicks pub in Worcester today, which is co-incidentally the first day of 2012 National Cask Ale Week.
The new ales produced by the brewery will be on sale at the bar at a reduced price for the evening and traditional bottles of the ale can also be bought to take home.
The new microbrewery was the brainchild of Dr Gerald Williams, Perry Jackson and Andrew Kier, three PhD level scientists and chartered physicists. The business was set up by them in July 2011 following the closure of their research department in Malvern.
After a year of hard work they are now producing and selling four bottle-conditioned premium ales from a number of outlets in Herefordshire and Worcestershire as well as from the microbrewery in Malvern Link.
On the night, enthusiasts can sample Jubilee Ale, Pinnacle Ale, and Friday Gold The latter is a smooth textured drink with a citrus flavour and will be available to buy in bottles. Later in the year, the microbrewery will be bringing its fourth ale, Black Hill Stout, to market.
