A MALVERN man has been banned from driving after being caught more than twice over the legal drink drive limit.
Stephen Moloney, of Sherrards Green Road, was disqualified for 18 months and fined £100 following an incident of drink driving on Sunday, September 2, when he was found with 83mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath after being stopped by police on Pickersleigh Road, in Malvern.
The legal limit is 35mcg.
Sarah Stock, prosecuting, said police received reports of an “extremely” drunk man and woman causing anti-social behaviour in Brock Lane before the man drove off in a Renault Laguna.
Sunil Jagatia, defending, said 40-year-old Moloney worked as a heavy goods lorry driver and should have “known better”
and had lost his job as a result of the incident.
Moloney was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
