A CONCERT organised by a student raised more than £800 for a children’s home in Sri Lanka.
Aaron King, a pupil in the lower sixth at Malvern College , managed to raise the money for charity Footsteps through donations given during the concert at St Edmund’s Hall, College Road, on Sunday, September 9.
Performances included Ave Verum Corpus sung by soprano Kathryn Withnall, the virtuoso piece by Lizst and special guest performer Christian Jenkins, baritone from the Royal College of Music, Cardiff.
There was also a raffle with prizes including Malvern Theatres pantomime tickets, zumba lessons, tickets for ice skating at ice Quest and a gift voucher for Indian restaurant Anupam.
The total was boosted by a £100 donation from jute bag supplier Jutexpo in Evesham and will go toward a second floor for a girl’s home run by the charity.
