I THINK that E J Hill perhaps does not realise why an area of North Hill has been fenced off with an electric fence to enclose sheep.
This will be temporary.
As I remember it, the whole reason to graze animals on the hills is to clear overgrowth of covering vegetation which chokes off the naturally occurring plants and flowers (and those native plants, insects and small animals).
I am sure Mr Hill’s dog could walk on an unenclosed and sheep free area of hill.
I certainly don’t think managing the hills is appalling folly.
And it is much easier to clean up after your dog on a lead and safer for the sheep.
