A NUMBER of readers are understandably strongly against the decision of Malvern Hills District Council to introduce wheelie bins and fortnightly collections of refuse (Letters, September 7).
Here are three questions with answers and two suggestions: Q: How angry are many local residents with the decision?
A: Wheelie angry.
Q: How crass is the decision of MHDC?
A: Wheelie crass.
Q: How fast will my bin travel down my steep driveway with a main road at the bottom?
A: Wheelie fast.
Suggestion 1. I can offer my driveway for a race meeting with the wheelie bins crewed from the inside by members of MHDC. Any subsequent vacancies on the council can then potentially be filled by those who oppose the recent decision.
Suggestion 2. As many people clearly believe that MHDC’s decision is “rubbish”, perhaps it can be collected – after one week, of course – and recycled into something more sensible.
