TWO men have appeared in court accused of attempting to rob the One Stop Shop on Pickersleigh Road.
Leon Nesbitt, of Pound Bank Road, Malvern, and Wayne Frankum, formerly of Malvern but now living in Lowesmoor, Worcester, were seen separately at Worcester Magistrates Court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
The case against both men will be heard at crown court on Tuesday, September 18.
Family and friends filled the public gallery as Frankum, who appeared visibly upset throughout the hearing, denied the charges while Nesbitt did not enter a plea.
The court was told a man entered the One Stop Shop on Pickersleigh Road at about 6pm last Friday and brandished a knife.
Magistrates heard an accomplice was believed to have entered the store before the attempted robbery to ‘suss the place out’.
Nesbitt, aged 27, was remanded in custody as he is a serving prisoner while Frankum was granted conditional bail.
Frankum, 21, was told he must live at Lowesmoor, was subject to a curfew from 7pm and 7am monitored by an electronic tag, must report to Worcester Police Station daily and is not allowed to enter Malvern.
