AN evening of entertainment and music could help to keep the floodwaters at bay in three villages.

Legendary PR man Max Clifford is hosting the fund-raising event at the Regal in Evesham on Saturday, September 22, in aid of the Broadway, Childswickham and Murcot flood relief scheme.

The bill is topped by the Original Liverpool Searchers, who are still touring after 45 years.

Their current line-up features founder member John McNally on lead guitar, 12-string guitar and vocals, Frank Allen on bass and vocals, Spencer James on lead vocals and synthesiser guitar and Scott Ottaway on drums and percussion.

Multi-talented international mind reader, comedian, entertainer and cabaret artiste Graham Jolley will also keep the audience bewitched, baffled and bewildered with a series of demonstrations delivered with a razor-sharp wit.

Talented vocalist Sam Bailey, of Newcastle, completes the line-up.

Money raised on the night will help the Environment Agency complete a new flood storage area upstream of the Cheltenham Road bridge in Broadway at an estimated cost of £3 million.

It is hoped the project will protect 495 properties in the villages.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are available for £25. For more information, go to theregal.ac or call the box office on 01386 421007.
