HOW lovely to see the photo and write up of Leigh Court station (August 31). Might be of interest to readers, I was the youngest signalwoman there, also on the GWR, 16 years of age, still alive and fighting fit.
My dad was the stationmaster there, Archie Tredwell.
I met my husband, Ray James, when he was a fireman on the steam trains; we met, married, and had four wonderful children.
Sadly, he passed away 25 years ago.
