RIDERS can slip into Victorian or vintage fancy dress for the first-ever Bricycles Elgar Vintage Cycle Ride, at 2pm on Sunday, September 16.
The ride is in aid of Acorn’s Children’s Hospice, and to buy a life-saving defibrillator for Malvern rugby club.
Organiser Tanya Trotman said part of the event’s inspiration was drawn from composer Sir Edward Elgar’s keen interest in cycling about the town.
“We have 50 people joining the ride and we will have collection boxes on the way round.
“We plan to make it an annual event.”
There will be prizes for the best-dressed rider and best bicycle.
The ride meets at the Malvern Hills Hotel , British Camp, at 1.30pm for the full 8.8 mile route. The familyfriendly route runs from British Camp, with a small uphill stretch to the Wyche cutting and down to Newlands.
Entry is £5 for adults, £3 concessions, £1 children.
