THE meeting on May 10 opened with a photo being taken of all present, which will go in the time capsule as part of the Bosbury jubilee celebrations.
The time capsule is the idea of the Parish Hall Committee and will be buried under the WI tree which is being planted on Sunday, June 3, at 2pm after the Big Lunch.
Other events taking place will be a pig roast at the Parish Hall on Monday, June 4, starting at 6pm, followed by the lighting of a beacon at The Bell Inn, and a five-a-side cricket match and fete on Tuesday, June 5, at Bosbury School. Five members volunteered for the WI team. Members were asked for cakes for the tea which the WI will serve from the cricket pavilion.
Rosemary and Dianne had attended the spring council meeting in Hereford and enjoyed their day, especially the speaker, Mary Rhodes.
Five members had braved the weather for a short walk and soup lunch organised by Judith.
An invitation had been received from Saltmarshe WI (our link institute) to their June meeting. The Group meeting will be on July 18 at Mathon and will be an Italian supper.
Members then discussed and voted in favour of the resolution calling on the Government to train and employ more midwives which was followed by refreshments and a quiz.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall, when there will be a talk on Meat Cuts and Cooking by Christopher Graham. For further information please telephone 01531 640 622. New members welcome.
