NOMINATIONS are being sought to honour sporting excellence and dedication throughout the Malvern Hills district.
The second annual Sports Awards organised by Malvern Hills District Council is taking place at Malvern College on Thursday, July 12, from 6pm to 10pm to reward achievement and dedication in sport from coaches, clubs, volunteers and performers In total there are 12 awards up for grabs and suggestions of anyone who excels at their sport or dedicates a large proportion of their free time to helping run a club or coaching young people are now being welcomed.
Dave Bradley, of BBC Hereford and Worcester, will compere the evening, which is being sponsored by Malvernbased company 3SDL.
Barbara Williams, MHDC’s portfolio holder for community and economic development, said: “This event will be a fantastic opportunity to reward the hours of tireless work individuals contribute to sport in the local community and to acknowledge the success of athletes and teams.
“It is also really great to see local businesses supporting this event in this tough economic climate.”
Winners of the awards will go on in November to the prestigious County Sports Awards, which has been developed by the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Completed application forms must be returned by Friday, June 1, to David Knapper, Sport Inspired Co-ordinator, MHDC, Avenue Road, Malvern, WR14 3AF.
