CENTRAL and local government do not always take local opinions into account, but in view of current expressions of contrition in Whitehall, possibly local authorities will follow.
In which case, why not slice off the vertical kerb on the Three Counties to Hanley Swan expressway, and fit a sloping kerb a foot further over?
The pathway would be narrower but still suitable for the odd jogger.
As regards ‘elf and safety’, a simple noticeboard saying “Walking at your own risk” should suffice.
After all on coastal cliffs it just says “Cliff Edge”!
