GALLERY owner Anna Brook was commissioned to create a family of floral corgis to greet the Queen as she opened the Chelsea Flower Show.
Mrs Brook was approached after she displayed a floral corgi at her Iapetus Gallery in Belle Vue Terrace for the Blooming Hills competition two weeks ago.
The judges told Robert Sweet, head of shows for the Royal Horticultural Society, who was in town for the Spring Gardening Show, and he asked if she could make some more for the Chelsea show.
She said: “I was thrilled to be part of commemorating the jubilee year at Chelsea, and then to actually meet the Queen was the icing on the cake.
The corgis made her smile, and she asked me about how I made them, and wanted to know which flowers I had used.
“The flowers were supplied by Forget me Not Florists in Great Malvern, who worked very hard to source the beautiful bronze chrysanthemums that really made the corgis perfect.”
Meanwhile, Coun Paul Tuthill, chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, is attending a Buckingham Palace garden party on Tuesday.
He said: “I’m delighted to have received the invitation, particularly so close to the jubilee.”
