AS a dog owner who recently moved to the area from the suburbs of Manchester, I was thrilled to discover the number of footpaths and fields I could walk my dogs in.
However, I am quite frankly disgusted at the amount of dog faeces around the area, particularly on footpaths running behind houses and on pavements.
It does somehow seem to escape non-dog owners who are (quite rightly) disgusted by dog mess, that actually the majority of responsible dog owners are also disgusted by it.
In fact doubly so because not only do we and our pets risk stepping in it, but we still get glared at and ‘tarred with the same brush’.
The answer is not more bins but more people picking the stuff up and taking it home with them.
Still, at least a turd will dissolve in the rain.
I must say I reserve my absolute hatred for those who smash glass all over the pavements, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
