HAVING moved to Upton in the past couple of months my wife and I always try to shop locally, and since moving to the area we have used most of the local shops.

Imagine my suprise when I go went to one shop and when I gave the assistant him my debit card his response was “oh I am going to have problems using that”, looked at the card machine and started to walk off to the rear of the shop.

When I told him i did not have any cash on me and that I would have to go to elsewhere he just shrugged his shoulders.

End result? A 10-mile round trip to an alternative shop in Malvern.

I think a course in customer service might be in order.
