CREATIVE children from a Malvern school are the first proud recipients of a new award from the Friends of Malvern Springs and Wells.
Cora Weaver visited St Matthias Primary in Malvern Link on Friday morning to present children with the new Founders Trophy in recognition of their efforts during the previous weekend’s well dressing celebrations.
The award, which recognises the group’s favourite well decoration, will be handed out annually from now on.
Headteacher Claire Davies said the trophy was an unexpected bonus, having already received a coveted gold award from well dressing judges for their decoration of Lord Sandys’ Spout in Spring Lane.
“The topic this year was achievement and all the children enjoyed talking about their own achievements, and made bunting to show what these were,” she said.
