COMPUTER users in Malvern are being asked to donate old and unused equipment to improve facilities elsewhere in the world.
The Shervington Third World Trust collects items and sends it to Guyana, the Caribbean and some African countries with the aim of improving education and healthcare facilities.
Malvern supporter Bob Beach has set up collections in the town and is looking for anyone with redundant computers, printers and peripherals to get in touch.
He is being backed in his efforts by Malvern Rotary Club, which has heard first-hand of the charity’s good work from the Rotary Club of St Vincent.
Sandy Gibson, of Malvern Rotary, said: “Computers and accompanying equipment are improving all the time and many users replace existing, working items with newer versions.
However, the older items often have plenty of life left in them, so it is important such components are passed on to those who can make use of them.”
Anyone who has items to donate can call Mr Beach on 01684 575217.
