CLEAR blue skies and no forecasted rain was well timed for the Malvern Youth and Community Trust’s launch day on Saturday, May 12.
The event followed the trust's takeover of the youth centre in Albert Road North from Worcestershire County Council.
A great turnout from the community allowed the trust to show off the centre, and young and old alike enjoyed delicious food alongside outdoor activities and music from local bands.
The celebrations continued well into the night with a ceilidh headlined by Hodge’s Dump.
Malvern resident Darren Pearce said, "I hadn't been to the youth centre for years, not since I went to a few gigs there when I was at school. The celebration day on Saturday was brilliant. I took my three daughters, Summer, Poppy and Bronte, and they loved it, particularly the face painting. Everyone had a great time and we look forward to the next trust event."
Exciting plans for the future are well under way including a new name and look for the centre. Meanwhile, anyone keen on hiring out the performance stage or studio, café, meeting rooms or working spaces can call 01684 575363.
