YOUNGSTERS from Upton Pre-school had a splashing as they visited their local launderette as part of their studies on the theme of water.
During their visit to The Launderette in New Street the children were welcomed by Brenda Till, who showed them equipment was used to do the washing in days gone by, including a washboard and brush, a dolly and a mangle.
They also learned the importance of washing their hands properly and read stories such as Mrs Wishy Washy and Mrs Lather’s Laundry together.
Pre-school leader Steph Maeers said: “The children all enjoyed the visit and all got to experience the equipment first-hand.”
