What may be classed as one of the Summer attractions in Malvern is the Open Lawn Tennis Tournament held in Manor Park. This year's has been fixed for Whit week and the committee have no doubt done the right thing in holding it then, for at no period of the year does Malvern present a more striking appearance than towards the end of May and the beginning of June. The players cannot fail to be struck by the beauty of the town and its surroundings, for the scene is very picturesque.

He will also, it is hoped, live in Malvern. Mr Lowe is the director of the Coventry Festival, which is being inaugurated on May 25, with a concert by the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The programme will include a specially-written cantata by Sir Arthur Bliss, Master of the Queen's Music.
