LIFE in the village has been pretty quiet over the last few weeks, but things now seem to be hotting-up and there is plenty to talk about.
Firstly, thanks go to all those (80) who attended the open garden on Croft Bank during Parkinson’s Awareness Week.
I understand £573 was raised, despite the rather drippy weather and then that evening quizzers made more than £100.
There is to be a production of The Canterbury Tales by students of Regents College. They will be performing in the theatre and grounds of the Elim International Centre on May 9 and 12 in the afternoon and May 10 and 11 in the evening. More information about the event is available from the Regents Village Shop.
A reminder that the WI is having its annual meeting on Thursday at 7.30pm. For the first time since the group started there will be elections for the committee.
If you are interested in getting involved please get in touch with Vicki or another committee member.
After the business of the meeting there will be time for socialising, wine and nibbles, and the opportunity to put forward ideas for speakers in the future.
The Community Market is starting again for the summer and will be held at 3.15pm on Friday, May 11, in the school hall.
As usual, there is the opportunity to sell home-produced goods as well as to buy.
As part of the jubilee celebrations (more on that subject next week) West Malvern Village Hall is holding a children’s art competition which will involve prizes and an exhibition.
All children attending St James’s primary school should have brought home all the details in the school newsletter, but if you would like more information please call 01684 567895.
So all kids aged four-11, it’s time to get the pencils and paints out. You only have a few weeks. All works of art need to be handed to the organisers during the week beginning May 21 – and parents, what better way to occupy children on a wet afternoon?
