DAREDEVIL freerunners will be bringing their highoctane sport to a tranquil stately home this summer.
National Trust-owned Croome Park, near Upton, provides a spectacular backdrop for the Freerunning@ tour, an open-air street dance production bringing together some of the world’s leading free-runners and martial artists.
Starring triple Guinness World Record holder Sam Parham, the show tells the story of a homeless teenager who teaches himself freerunning before an audition as a film stunt extra gives him his big break.
Combining classical music with contemporary beats and tight choreography with improvisation, the show is also fully interactive, with audience members becoming part of the production as ‘extras’ in the filming scenes and able to get up-close and personal to the action.
Producer Susannah Daley said: “Free-running is one of the most exciting extreme sports around at the moment. It will feature in the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.
“Audiences of all ages will be able to enjoy their agility, strength and athleticism during an exhilarating show in a fantastic setting.”
Freerunning@ is at Croome Park on Friday and Saturday, July 20-12 and tickets cost between £10-18 (concessions £9-15, children £6-10). For more information go online to freerunningat.com.
