AN independent school for girls in Malvern is celebrating following an excellent report by inspectors.
The report on Malvern St James was issued this week by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
It follows five days of inspection.
The inspectors described the Avenue Road-based school as being “highly successful in creating an atmosphere in which pupils grow in self-confidence, sensitivity to others and personal responsibility”, with pupils who are “highly articulate, confident and creative.”
It said the school’s academic achievements are illustrated with consistently high GCSE results and with the most A-level students gaining places at their first choice university.
The range and quality of extracurricular activities, including drama, music and sport, are also commended.
Head Patricia Woodhouse said: “We are delighted to receive such a positive report. The feedback reflects the quality of teaching and learning at Malvern St James in an atmosphere which both inspires and motivates girls and staff alike.
We encourage every girl to achieve her full potential, and this report supports the multitude of opportunities on offer within the school.”
