EXCITEMENT is building for this year’s Acorns Triple Run on Sunday, June 24, and with registrations open now is the ideal moment to start training for the popular event.
Last year, more than 1,200 participants enjoyed the annual fund-raising event, which is now in its sixth year, at the Three Counties Showground.
Serious runners can opt for the Malvern Half Marathon, promoted by the Worcester Athletics Club.
Alternatively, entrants can choose a 5km multi-terrain fun run or walk through scenic woodland and a 1km fun run designed for children and adults with special needs.
Chris Price, chairman of the triple run committee, said: “Last year’s run had one of the best atmospheres we’ve had.
“Everyone said how much they enjoyed such an attractive course, and how the half marathon was well organised.”
Kerrie Davies, Acorns’ events manager, said: “The triple run brought everyone together for the good of their local hospice.
“From serious runners to people trying to get fit and parents – some with local life-limited children in wheelchairs – it includes all our community.
“They have made a real difference to Acorns’ families.”
