MORE than £1,000 in damage was caused after at least nine cars were broken into around Malvern in the early hours of Thursday, January 12.

West Mercia Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incidents and say they could be linked.

Vehicles on Meadowsweet Court, Orchid Court, Court Road, Lavender Walk, Worcester Road and Old Hollow had their windows smashed and items including satnavs, DVD players and driving documents were taken.

PC Dan Underwood, from Malvern police station, said: “It is unusual to have such a large number of cars broken into in one night so we are linking the offences.

“We received reports of a man acting suspiciously in the area between about 4.30am and 6.30am, near to some of the cars which were broken into.

“I would urge anyone who saw this man, or anything which may help us to identify who is responsible for these crimes, to contact us.”

Anyone with information should call PC Underwood on 0300 3333000, quoting 67S 120112 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
