A HOST of community organisations have benefited from last year’s West Fest music festival.
West Fest, held in July, was a great success, attracting more than 2,500 people to enjoy a day of music from a variety of bands and performers.
After each West Fest, groups or individuals from the Malvern Hills area are invited to apply for grants to support community action, cultural development, training or other special needs.
Now organisers have presented 18 successful applicants with £5,150 from the proceeds of the festival.
The money was handed out during a presentation evening at the Brewer’s Arms in West Malvern on Thursday, January 12.
The recipients are Wells and Wyche Pre School, Colwall Rotary, West Malvern Parish Council, Hills Echo, Hanley Castle High School, Leapfrogs, West Malvern Primary School, West Malvern Cricket Club, West Malvern Amateur Dramatics, West Malvern Social Club, West Malvern British Legion, 7th Malvern Scouts, 1st Malvern Scouts, Malvern Sea Cadets, Osborne Court, Theatre of Small Convenience, All Terrain Bike Responder Unit and Sophie Witherford for community work.
This year West Fest will be held on Saturday, July 14.
