FUND-RAISERS are preparing to be under starter’s orders at a race night in West Malvern next weekend.
Malvern’s Oxfam fund-raising group is hosting the event on Saturday, January 28, at 7.30pm in West Malvern Village Hall and is seeking punters to place bets in aid of the charity.
The group, which was formed last year and has already raised more than £1,500, is also appealing for local businesses to sponsor the event for as little as £10.
Group chairman Chris Reed said: “The race night should be great fun for everyone.
“Fifty per cent of the bets are donated to charity and the remaining 50 per cent will make up the winnings pot.
“So whether you back a winner or a loser, you’ll be helping a good cause.”
Tickets are £5 and include a bet, a pint and some peanuts.
