THE letter from Robin Jones in last week’s Gazette made many good points against the need for onshore wind farms and about the “hidden”
costs of such undertakings.
We hope this has raised the public’s awareness of the possible environmental vandalism that could be committed if the current plan for the wind farm at Strensham is passed by Tewkesbury Borough Council. Three industrial sized wind turbines at 415ft (128 metres) each high and a 220ft (68 metres) high lattice wind gauge will certainly be noticed for miles around.
Shouldn’t all the local councils in the area, at least talk to one another regarding the effect this would have on tourism in the area. Perhaps now people will start to question the sort of impact these decisions will have on the environment for the foreseeable future.
