AT last some common sense views on the Knapp Lane saga. I fully support the views of your letter writers Brian Hudson and Mary Winfield regarding the council’s proposals of a partial oneway system – a ridiculous proposition.
Mary Winfield has the courage to suggest banning through traffic east to west, suggesting the excellent by-pass as the alternative, unfortunately this will cause considerable inconvenience to Knapp area residents. Is there a further alternative?
There is already a prohibition on vehicles in excess of 3.5t except for access throughout the whole Knapp Lane Area. Why not extend this to ALL vehicles, except for access. The sign infrastructure is already in place. I doubt if you could find a single Knapp area resident who would disagree with this suggestion.
If the object of the suggested alterations is for the benefit of local residents is this perhaps the answer. A similar prohibition seems to work well in Belle Orchard. Discuss.
