RE: EDWARD Hogan’s letter last week on the Queen’s jubilee and who should pay. Mr Hogan, £5,000 is not a little amount.
You expect the council taxpayers of Ledbury to pay? Well, believe it or not, it was put to a vote and those who wanted the taxpayer to foot the bill lost. That’s called a democratic vote. We are a democracy, a government by the people through elected representatives.
As far as I know we have not met so how do you know my views on the Queen? Yes, I did say she has lots of money but I never mentioned palaces – that’s from your own mind.
You were not at the council meeting but feel free to donate the £5,000 to the jubilee.
