A MALVERN man was over the moon when four Worcester Warriors players popped in to St Richard’s Hospice.
Brian Marks was among patients in the day hospice who met players Dale Rasmussen, Miles Benjamin, Tevita Taumoepeau and Joe Carlise.
Mr Marks, aged 53, said he was “knocked-out” to see them.
“I’m a huge Warriors fan and season ticket holder,” he said. “It was just incredible to meet the players.
“They were very nice to talk to and chatted about rugby. Meeting them was one of the highlights of my days at St Richard’s and I want to thank them so much for coming to the hospice.”
The day hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Each year the team supports more than 2,000 patients and family members.
Rachel Jones, corporate and events fundraiser for St Richard’s, said: “This was a great treat for many of our patients and we are very grateful to the Warriors for making this happen.”
The hospice needs to raise £5.4 million this year to continue their work. For details, visit strichards.org.uk.
