Between one and two o'clock on Tuesday, a motor car from the Westminster Hotel, West Malvern, was proceeding up the North Malvern Road when it skidded and turned over. The occupant of the car, Mr Wright of Edinburgh, was cut about the face, but not seriously. The car was not very much damaged.

Malvern. The proposal to use the camp as a prison hit the town like a bombshell just over a year ago. Malvern's 24,000 population was practically united in opposing the suggestion.

Upton may have its own mayor if councillors agree to change from parish to town status. The issue will be debated at next month's parish council meeting, after an approach from the newly-formed Upton Tourism Association which believes a town mayor would be a greater attraction than a parish council chairman. Councillors voted to remain a parish when the proposal was last discussed in 1982, though only by a narrow margin.
