I WAS overjoyed to read in the Malvern Gazette (December 9) that in these hard-pressed economic times the Arts Council in conjunction with the Hanley’s Village Society and a Birmingham- based artist has allocated £8,000 to spend on a heritage sculpture for the centre of Hanley Swan.
I am confident that male dogs from near and far will be thrilled to avail themselves of this new focal point of the village at their earliest opportunity.
One disappointing aspect of the project, however, is the envisaged completion date of February 2013.
Would April 1 not be a more appropriate date?
