I WAS amazed and horrified by Julian Brown’s miserable outpouring last week.

There are a lot of people who, like me, enjoy the “new”

Waitrose. Not only do we have a much wider choice of goods but we still have the wonderful, caring and hardworking staff who help to make each visit a pleasure.

I witnessed the unfailing good cheer that the staff displayed all through the alterations when life at work must have been very difficult for them.

Now they have much to be proud of and I believe we should be happy for them and with them as they give us the extremely high levels of service regular customers have enjoyed there for the last 12 years.

I was wheelchair bound and then coping with crutches for several months earlier this year and the care and service I received at Waitrose was wonderful, great humanity and no patronising.

Our branch of Waitrose is one of the many things of which Malvern can be justifiably proud. I would like to remind Julian Brown that the café is an excellent place to join friends for social meetings.
