EVEN the strong wind last weekend did not destroy the May Blossom, the white flowers that stand out so well on the hills against the darker green foliage are as spectacular as the bluebells.
The phrase Nuts in May is thought to be a corruption of Knots in May and goes back to the time when the blossom was carried into houses to celebrate Beltane.
