THE 48th AGM took place on Tuesday, April 26 at Hanley Swan Village Hall at 2pm.
Vivienne Hewitt opened the meeting and welcomed members and visitors. A few apologies were received and read by the secretary. Minutes from the last AGM were read and signed correct.
Chairmans report, Vivienne started by saying it did not seem 12 months since the group had moved to Hanley. There had been a few teething problems, now everything was running smoothly. Very good demonstrations, trips and outings enjoyed by everyone, she also thanked everyone for their help during the last 12 months.
Secretarys report. Mary Davis gave her report going through different items everything satisfactory.
Janet Carter, Treasurer, read her report explaining the balance sheet as she went along.
Election of committee en bloc.
Any other business Carol Pike retired from the committee after being a loyal member since 1967. Members will be arranging flowers in Malvern Priory during the month of August, volunteers needed please.
Meeting closed at 2.35pm.
Sheila Smith then gave a interesting talk on different legends. George and the Dragon, Pied Piper, Christmas in Germany and England and The Green Man representing the start of spring. Vote of thanks was given by Nina Weston.
Competition entitled Spring was won by Pat Rogers. The next meeting is on Tuesday, May 24 at 2pm at Hanley Swan Village Hall Demonstration with Janet Davian entitled Down Your Way. All visitors welcome ELLEN WALKER.
