THE Link Group of Churches had a fine sunny morning for their Good Friday Walk of Witness when 50 people joined in.
Led by Reverend David Nichol (Holy Trinity), the walk started from Handyman House in Spring Lane with Brother Peter Coombes carrying the Cross, and along the route hymns were sung, accompanied by four brass band players. Bible readings of the events of Good Friday were read by members of the various churches represented. The walk ended at the United Reformed Church where Reverend Peter Knight (St Matthias) gave the final prayer. A short reflective service was held inside the URC church, led by Reverend Roger Woodall, a retired minister of the URC, who is from Hereford.
In Great Malvern members of the churches in that part of Great Malvern walked to the Priory Churchyard carrying crosses which all fitted together to make one large Cross for a service led by Reverend John Barr. The Chase Band accompanied the singing of hymns and the Good Friday lesson was read by Reverend Peter Edwards, Curate at the Priory. Reverend Nigel Tween of Elim College, West Malvern, gave a short address and Reverend Alison Richards of the Methodist churches led the prayers. Sixty Hot Cross Buns were distributed to passers by in Church Street to explain the Good Friday message.
