PUTLEY WI celebrated its 90th birthday in style on Wednesday, April 13 with a party at the village hall. Avril Killick, Chairman of the Herefordshire Federation, came along to help plant a commemorative rose, and everyone was invited to wear a hat that the founding members would have been proud to wear! Past members joined in, and there were lots of photos and records of the past 90 years to look at.
A lively group, they meet every second Wednesday of the month. Activities have varied from a talk by Elizabeth Hunter, High Sheriff for Hereford & Worcester to painting pottery at Glazydayzs in Ledbury, and have included a poetry walk around Dragon Orchard and a workshop on writing magazine articles! Their next engagement is providing teas for visitors to Blossomtime on Monday, May 2, in Putley Village Hall.
