DURING the Homage and silent tribute we carried in our thoughts, two more departed friends and colleagues in Canon The Reverend John Williams and Bob Turner. The members send their sincere condolences to both families on their sad passing.

We also have Lou Fairbairn and Bernard Blower in our thoughts at this time.

We had a very depleted attendance at our meeting due to unavoidable circumstances but we were delighted to have David Brickell our President back in our midst on his return from recent hospital care.

For the future we discussed various proposals for a fund raising event in the summer and confirmed the Group Three Rally Service to be held at St John’s Church on Sunday June 12 at 1am final details next month.

The Powick and Callow End branch of The Royal British Legion desperately needs some new members; male or female young or old, to support us. It is vitally important that we keep this worthwhile organisation (now in it’s 90th year) active in our community, but we now need some new blood to see us into the future. If you can spare a couple of hours for one evening a month and are sympathetic to our cause why not join us, contact John on 01905 830805 for details.
