ON Tuesday, May 17 The Lucy Hingley Memorial Lecture will return to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in the George Marshall Medical Museum Lecture Theatre, 7pm for 7.30pm on the 80th anniversary of Lucy Hingley’s Chairmanship of the County WI. The speaker on this important anniversary will be Stephen Thrush, Breast Care Consultant from the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. He will be speaking for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign: Everybody Knows Somebody, Tickets at £5 are obtainable from your WI Secretary or WI House, 01905 641658.
Returning by popular demand, Stephen Dean, Principal Archaeologist at Staffordshire County Council is speaking on The Staffordshire Hoard. The WI is delighted to announce that Stephen has agreed to return to Worcestershire to give another presentation on the largest hoard of Anglo Saxon Treasure ever found. The WI would like to invite all members of the public, (men included!) along with their own members to Stourport Civic Centre on Thursday, May 26 at 7pm. Tickets are £7 or £6 for WI members.
