FURTHER to the letter from Owen Morgan regarding the selling-off of the Malvern Youth Centre, I congratulate Mr Morgan who has made a strong case for the retention of this very worthwhile amenity.
In common with many of my contemporaries I too was a member of a youth club down in Hampshire over 60 years ago and it is where I met my wife and we made friendships which have survived to this day. The facilities at the club were fairly basic, there was minimum supervision by the two adults who ran the club, and we formed committees from the members and ran our own competitive games, outings and refreshment bar - non-alcoholic!
I believe that the closure and selling-off of the site would be a retrograde step and perhaps another indication that the young people in this town are low on the list of priorities.
