THIS evening (Friday) there is a walk from Callow End to Powick Church starting at 6.30pm from St James’ Church on the main road (via the playing field) to arrive at St Peter’s church Powick, in time for a free barbecue at 7.30pm. As the route follows a bridle way and crosses a field of long grass, stout footwear is recommended. There will be time to walk back or alternatively cars will be provided to ferry people back to the start. All are welcome.

Tomorrow, come and have a late breakfast at St James’ Church, Callow End anytime from 10am till noon. During the morning there will be Magic Moments from Martin Harbor with a number of magic tricks for all ages. All welcome to this free event.

On Sunday morning at 11am there will be a Songs of Praise service with musical fireworks at St Peter’s Church, Powick. There are hymns, drama and an address by the Archdeacon of Worcester Cathedral Venerable Roger Morris, plus coffee to follow. All are welcome. These three events are part of the 4 in Faith weekend across the United Benefice along with events in Guarlford and Madresfield.

Congratulations to Nick Sandy of Colletts Green, Powick who completed the London Marathon in April in the commendable time of 4 hours 26 minutes. He personally raised £400 in sponsorship money on behalf of the Hospice Movement. Lyn Snook, also from Colletts Green, is taking part in a sponsored run at the Three Counties Showground on Sunday, June 7. She and members of her family will be joining the Acorns Triple Run to raise money for the Acorns Children’s Hospice. Prospective sponsors can contact her on 01905 830266.

Tomorrow, Saturday, come and be entertained by comedian Martin Stutter at Callow End Village Hall. Tickets are £10 and include a ploughman’s supper. The event is supported by Shindig and starts at 8pm.
