STARTING at the Colwall Park Hotel and stretching to Colwall Green over 70 scarecrows of every shape and size lined the route through the village on Spring Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. They were propped up on fences, hanging from windows leaning on post boxes and sitting in deck chairs. The competition being to write down the name of every scarecrow that you see. This was followed by a welcome cup of tea and piece of cake at Provident Villa. The event was in aid of the Cerebral Palsy Connections charity at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Congratulations must go to Leita, and Gillian for this very different fund raising idea. Could this become a regular event in the Colwall Village calendar?
