LONGDON Brownies started the Easter Term by holding a promise ceremony for two new girls, as well as saying goodbye to several older Brownies who are now joining Upton Guides and Welland Guides. We made the most of fine evenings to enjoy the out-of-doors and collect natural materials. We used these to make birds to contribute to the decorating of Hayslad Well for the annual well dressing competition, along with other Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers in Malvern. Girlguiding Malvern was delighted to win gold prize!
The children at Longdon St Mary Primary School recently enjoyed a fantastic Circus Day. Their faces were a picture as they watched mini performances by Steve of Shooting Stars and then as they persevered to master new skills. The children had the opportunity to use a tight rope, stilts, pedal-goes and mini bikes as well as exploring a variety of juggling and balancing equipment. William B was very proficient on the mini bike, Owen is well practiced with the Diablo and Emily mastered the full sized stilts to name but a few. The children all participated enthusiastically – a good day had by all.
Outer Limits were delighted to welcome Councillor Tom Wells to a special meeting at the Vicarage recently. Tom came to chat to the young people about their youth group and to look at all the equipment he had kindly funded over the past couple of years. It was a good opportunity to thank him for all his support and to meet one of our local councillors.
