MUSIC lovers are being urged to snap up the last tickets for the anniversary gala concert at Worcester Cathedral in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice.
The concert, taking place on Saturday, May 23 at 7 30pm, celebrates the 21st anniversary of the Acorns as well as the 25th anniversary of St Richard’s Hospice.
Money will be raised for Acorns Fragile Lives appeal to help see the local charity through the recession and protect its vital care and support services for the future.
Mike George, from BBC Hereford and Worcester, will be master of ceremonies at the concert.
He will introduce rich performances for every taste by the West Mercia Constabulary Band, Worcester Youth brass band, and 100 young musicians in five local school choirs drawn from around Worcestershire.
Sophie James, Acorns’ Community Fundraiser for Worcestershire, said: “This will be one of the most enjoyable musical events of the year in Worcester, in the stunning and atmospheric setting of the city’s cathedral. Everyone who enjoys brass band and choral music can join us and help celebrate 21 years of children’s hospice care in the county.”
The West Mercia Constabulary band has raised £500,000 for good causes including Acorns in its own 21 years.
