MR Chinery, the last Head Teacher to actually live on site at Longdon School, passed away recently. Several local residents would be among his former pupils and he will be remembered by many with fond memories.

There is still time to join the Benefice trip to Chichester Cathedral on Saturday, May 30. The visit will include a guided tour of the Cathedral, an afternoon cream tea in the Cloisters Café and Evensong at 5.30pm. There will be plenty of time for shopping and a walk around the city. Opening on Saturday, May 16 until May 23 will be an exhibition of paintings by Pat Unwin, a local artist who passed away last year. This will be held at Queenhill W I Hall from 11am until 4pm and admission is free. Pat was a much loved member of our community and this is a wonderful celebration of her life, through her paintings.

On Sunday there will be a service of Holy Communion at 8am at St Mary’s Church. There will not be a service at Queenhill this week.
